Quartzscreen is a video projection on a three-dimensional canvas made of interconnected hanging wood cut shapes. Using imagery from urban architecture, tropical nature and of a musical ensemble, the artist establishes a relationship between previously disengaged sites and scenery.
Revealed through a complex system of raw screens, Garcia Dutra’s work aims to cross the boundaries between video art and sculpture. It also highlights the artist’s interest in 'Modernism as an eternal return' and the way nature, civilization and culture cannot exist as separated elements.
The sound that accompanies the art installation has been developed in collaboration with Polish composer Radek Rudnick.
(re)Organised Delirium was curated by Alessandra Modiano.
